Paul Brothwood | Meeting Dakar Rider Tosha Schareina During Honda Adventure Roads 2026

Paul Brothwood travelled to the Pyrenees as part of Honda Adventure Roads 2026, an adventure riding event that brought together a select group of 30 riders from around the world.

One of the highlights of the journey was the opportunity to spend time with Dakar Rally rider Tosha Schareina, one of the leading competitors in modern rally raid racing.

The Pyrenees provided an incredible backdrop for Honda Adventure Roads 2026, combining technical riding, spectacular scenery and unforgettable experiences.

For anyone with an interest in motorcycles, the Dakar Rally represents one of the toughest challenges in motorsport. Riders face thousands of kilometres of difficult terrain, extreme temperatures and constant pressure over many days of competition.

Watching Tosha ride during Honda Adventure Roads 2026 quickly demonstrated why he competes at the highest level.

What stood out was not outright speed. It was control, consistency and precision.

Whether navigating rocky mountain trails, loose gravel tracks or steep climbs in the Pyrenees, every movement appeared deliberate and measured. There was no unnecessary drama and no wasted effort.

As someone whose motorcycling background has largely been focused on road riding, including ownership of a Suzuki Hayabusa 25th Anniversary edition, it was fascinating to see the level of skill required to ride difficult terrain with such confidence.

Honda Adventure Roads 2026 provided plenty of opportunities to develop new skills and push personal boundaries.

The Honda Transalp proved to be an impressive machine throughout the journey. It handled mountain passes, gravel roads and off-road sections with ease, giving riders the confidence to tackle terrain that many would normally avoid.

The Pyrenees provided the perfect backdrop.

Every day brought a different challenge. Remote mountain tracks, stunning landscapes and constantly changing riding conditions created an experience unlike any traditional motorcycle tour.

The event also reinforced an important lesson.

Success is rarely about talent alone.

Preparation, discipline, teamwork and continuous learning play a huge role in achieving exceptional results. Those qualities are just as important in leadership and business as they are in professional motorsport.

Honda Adventure Roads 2026 was packed with memorable moments, but the opportunity to ride alongside Tosha Schareina will remain one of the most memorable parts of the experience.

For me, it was a reminder that there is always something new to learn, regardless of experience level, and that some of the best lessons come from observing people who have mastered their craft.
